I like the Dell X3i for its screen and wireless features like my h5455, but it was too square for me. And the square nub wasn't nearly as nice as the antenna on my h5455!

I have a Dell X5 advanced and loved it , no problems. I recently bought the iPAQ 4155 for the integrated Wi Fi. Now this is a great PPC. I can surf the internet and print wirelessly from any where in the house. Too cool.

I love my h5455 for that reason! I can check sites for updates, news, forum stuff, and MSN contacts. I love WiFi! Now if only they had the G network speeds!

I wish I hadn't read this thread :<. I have been contemplating the Axim 3Xi for several months now. I would just go ahead and buy it, but I really don't 'need' a PDA and 'want' is tempered by having a wife and daughter.

The x3i is cheaper, has more memory, and a better screen, but from what I read the quality isn't there? Is the 415x really worth the extra $100-150?

You can't beat the Dell on price especially when you use coupons. Good luck if you ever have to deal with their customer service, it is the absolute worst. If price were not a factor I would go with the ipaq anyday.

I guess I will have to see how much I am getting back on taxes and go from there. I have plenty of credit, but the payments are getting old REAL fast.

The other hold-back is: how do you buy a $450 Ipaq when your wife of 4 years has a $200 engagement ring?

Certainly is. I replied to your thread on Brighthand but although the X3i is good, the 4150 is fantastic.

To me, quality and service are both important to me since the money I spend on PDA's is investments. To me it is worth $100 - $150 more.

The product is definitely not the only thing you should be looking at. Service is what is going to help you use your product years after purchase. If the service isn't there, the product will be no good very soon. $150 for great service? Absolutely.

It is not that the X3i is a bad pda, it is more that the ipaq line is a better quality for what you pay for. I personally did not find the X3i to be up to my standards for the money. Even with the savings the X3i just did not measure up. Once you purchase a product, even if that product cost $100 verses $300, it is not until after the purchase that you start to evaluate if you have made the right choice. Several things will come to mind for that evaluation depending on what your general priorities were for the purchase. For me, I do not want to say that I would have willingly paid an additional $100 if the product would have met my expectations. The X3i did not and the deal that I paid was not worth it to me. The ipaq 4155 was.

I agree with TLC. Even the cheapest person (I think) would rather pay $300 for something they will use and enjoy rather than $100 for something they won't even look at.

Sometimes it is very easy to get caught up in the "I'm saving money" mentality. When we see an item for a certain price and then we find something just like what we saw for less, you want to go the cheaper route. Sometimes we forego doing homework on the product before purchase. But then when we commit our dollars it is too late.

Sometimes going with a proven leader an a particular industry that has a track record of good service is always the key. In short, we are compulsive people when it comes to sending our dollars.

Anyone trying to decide between a Dell and an Ipaq should spend some time reading post at this site as well as aximsite.com. Both sites have users that tell it like it is with these products and have no problems answering any concerns with either product. The way I see it is, it all depends on what you are looking for. If money is the factor, I hope you have a high tolerance level.

TLC hit the nail on the head. It all depends on your needs and what you will use a PDA for.

That is what I love about sites like iPAQhq and AximSite; they tell it like it is, and help people along the way, from the decision, to their purchase, during their use, and in some cases, up top the sale of it when they don;t use it anymore. I love these communities!
