Son of a $!@%
I just installed MultiIE, only to find that it LOCKED up my 4150!! I did a soft reset, and then it locked again. After this, absolutely nothing worked...the unit wouldn't turn off, wouldn't reset, nothing. So here I sit, at my girlfriend's house at 4 in the morning, with a hard-reset PDA. As I sat there and went through the "this is how you cut and paste" crap that the OS makes you go through on a new system, I cursed MultiIE up and down.

LUCKILY...after I got up and running again, I just happened to look in the iPaq Backup program, and I just made a backup about a week ago...just to be safe. So...I restored from my backup and all is well. I lost about a day's worth of data, since I haven't synched in about a day. Not too bad...but still pisses me off.

DON'T INSTALL MULTIIE!!!!!

Thanks for the heads up. Any chance you can try it again to see if it was just coincidence

Whoa dude, take it easy! I have MultiIE (v3.0-d52) running on my 4150 with no problem whatsoever. In cases like this, if you are trying to install the same version (the latest) then I would say you have some sort of conflict that's causing MultiIE problems.

Yeah, I think it could have been a one time fluke or maybe there was a conflicting program on your iPAQ that was causing a freeze-up. Sounds like "Journal Bar / Battery Pack Syndrome: Different people have different results."

What version of MultiIE are you trying to install???
If you check out this web site:

http://www.southwaycorp.net/

You'll see the following message:

"Special Note: The latest build of MultiIE now supports Ipaq 41xx / Toshiba e80x and all other Pocket PC devices! For best results before you install the new version, please uninstall any old version of MultiIE and soft-reset your PDA. "

This, of course, implies that previous versions did not support the iPAQ 41xx models. Try downloading the latest version - but, just to be safe, do another backup before you install it.

Also, make sure you remove any traces of the original. Just doing an uninstall will not help. You should go into File Explorer and manually remove any other files to make sure your iPAQ is "clean."
