Anyone running vxSniffer on a 4150?


I'm not having any luck with it.

I know - try a hard reset and install on a clean build.. Just wondering if someone has been through the pain already

worked fine for me on my 4150

You were able to capture promiscuous traffic? Do you have a screenshot? Did you lose IP connectivity to the Ipaq while you were capturing?

Q. The WI-FI adapter is not listed in the "Choose Adapter" of the properties.

A. The iPAQ models that have built-in WI-FI may have a corrupted registry entry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE /Comm/vnetmini
Has:
Linkage\Route (data: unreadable.dll)
should read:
Linkage\Route vnetmini1

You'll need a registry editor to correct the problem.

Q. I get an error "cannot load driver" when attempting to run vxSniffer on a Pocket PC 2003.

A. It appears the incorrect version of vxSniffer was installed on your HPC (most likely the Pocket PC 3.0 version)
Do the following:
1. Remove vxSniffer
2. Copy the file vxSniffer.ppc42_arm.CAB from the desktop to the HPC
3. Double tap the file copied in #2 above on the HPC
4. It will install

Thanks but it does appear in the list and I don't get the cannot load driver problem. Air scanner is 2002 only

I'm also having problems getting vxsniffer to work on my 4150

Also looked at airsniffer as well - having problems there as well.

What are the best apps to use with the 4150 that dont give any problems?

Would you mind dropping a note to the vxSniffer developer. I got the feeling he thought I was the only one.

i'm also having the same problems with vxsniffer and my h4150
tried both versions 0.9.5 and 0.9.6..
with the ndis or wlan interfaces
using any capture method

with ndis i cannot capture anything, but with any method on the wlan interface it freezes my ipaq.
