4150, WLAN, and Windows XP
Hi

I'm trying in earnest to get my PC to work with my 4150 via 802.11b. My setup is as follows:

A. PC with Windows XP
B. Origo USB 802.11b adapter
C. Origo ADSL Router - non-wireless (connected to the PC via ethernet)
D. HP iPaq 4150

Now, the problem is that I want to be able to use D to access files on A and use the Internet. At the moment the only way I can do attempt this is by having B plugged into A, C plugged into A, and sharing the internet connection with Windows ICS. The trouble escalates because of DHCP servers etc. The router (C) has a DHCP server, but Windows likes to use one too I think when using ICS. So when I enable ICS, I cannot access the configuration page on my router (C).

How can I set-up A, C, and D to work in sync and have D access everything on A as well as the Internet?

Thanks,
Garfield.

It's fine to have DHCP enabled on ICS and the router. Ensure that you enabled ICS on the wired interface, not the wireless one. And don't bridge them.

Ok it doesn't work. I've changed the router's IP to 192.168.1.1 and the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0, DCHP is enabled on the router, but it's making the ethernet connection on my PC to the router have a different IP address to what ICS wants.

Basically what I need is my PC to have a static IP address, my iPaq can have a dynamic address, and I need to access files and the Internet from my iPaq.

If anyone can help further it's much appreciated as it's really frustrating me at the moment.

Thanks,
Garfield
