Ipaq Rom Update - Should I?
So, a new rom update is out for the ipaq 4150 - up to 1.1. I only got my ipaq last week and am new to all of this. Seems that several people have had problems since updating. Therefore can anyone help with the following?

1) Is it worth it?
2) Do I lose all my contacts after the update and if so, will they be returned when I next sync with outlook?
3) HP seems to have brought out "bum" rom updates in the past - should I just stick with what I've got until more people have tested this one?

Thanks for your advice.

Simon

i bought my 4150 about a few weeks ago to upgrade from my toshiba e740. i did the rom upgrade (after which you should NOT restore a backup), and outlook still had all my contact information. i established a new partnership and synchronized and all my data was there. i had to reinstall all my programs, but that's not a big deal.

Simon,

I also just bought the 4155 and have the toshiba 740 and 805, for me this one gets used and has many features that others do not. size being one of them. I installed the new rom without any problems. It is just IMO a great little PDA for everyday use.

It is really up to you as to want YOU want. There is always going to a better one and one that has newer features and smaller size etc. etc. but you would have to wait for ever to get the perfect one.

As you may have seen many in this forum have a number of PDA's and as long as they keep making them most will keep buying and upgrading them.
