can I do this email routine with bluetooth?
I was using a smartphone, but I've decided I want to try using a really solid PDA (4355) and a small but capable bluetooth GPRS or CDMA device as a tether to the outside world. I tried one of the new PPC phones from sprint, but it's just too big and bulky to use as a phone. The PDA part is awesome, though... So, basically what I want to do is configure some sort of mail client -- don't really care which one -- to fire up the handheld every 10 or 15 minutes and hit the bluetooth connection on the phone and download/send emails. When it's done, i want it to go back to sleep so the battery doesn't go dead. Is this even possible or does it go all wrong when the unit powers down? If the phone is out of range during a check email interval i'd just want it to fail, but no break it for the day -- i.e. if the phone is back in range on the next interval, it'll just hook up and go...
