The problem was a little different for me. We have a network management service running on a server at work, and there is a Pocket PC optimized page available on that server. If I opened Pocket IE and entered the page, it would be
http://www.companyname.com/network/mobile. However, when the page loaded, the URL would now be redirected something like http://www.companyname.com/network(?=acebn47893nf)/mobile/hjk.asx or some such. It was explained to me that a session was started when I hit this page, and that this session would eventually time out. Therefore, the new address shown as the URL in Pocket IE should not be stored as the address for the shortcut or favorite. However, the Ipaq software would not let me manually enter the address I wanted for the favorite, nor would it let me edit it. I could only add the address of the page I was currently on, which contained the redirected URL for the session. To get around this, I entered the correct URL address (without session info) into IE on my PC, which <did> allow me to enter and edit as I pleased. Syncing this in mobile favorites moved it to my Ipaq successfully.
Again, there may be a better way - I just couldn't find it. I don't care about viewing content offline, just getting the correct (not the redirected) URL. Thanks again, Don
