4355 - Syncronizing Notes
Hi, I can't sync my notes. It says I can't resolve items. Any ideas on how to "resolve" this issue? Thanks.

I am assuming that your calendar/ tasks etc are syncronising okay - which would mean there is nothing wrong wih your AS connection if so the following applies:

This normally happens when you change a note on your iPaq and on your PC without syncing in between - AS doesn't know which copy you want it to use.

The easiest way to fix the issue is to open AS on your PC and select either PC or PPC to overwrite the other.

This was definitely helpful information. I thought would take care of it, but it still gives me and error and tells me to disconnect and reconnect my device. Everything else does sync just fine.

Okay try this:

- whilst not connected
- on your PC Outlook move all your notes out to a newly created directory
- soft reset your ipaw
- sync your unit

All notes should now be GONE (and therefore it should sync okay)

- move your notes back into the Notes directory

Okay now?

Thanks for the quick response. Still no luck. I went to outlook. Cut all my Notes. Made a new folder and copied them into that one. Did a soft reset and then tried to sync again. Was that correct?

Yes - if that didn't work:

Now try this.

When not connected:

Open AS on yoru desktop
Go to File>Delete Partnership> and delete the partnership (save the files when it asks you)
Soft reset your PPC
Sync your unit (it will go through the sync wizard)

Okay now?

If so - copy your notes back into the Notes folder in Desktop Outlook.

Thanks Rob, I really appreciate your patience and your help. I deleted all my notes in Microsoft Outlook on the PC, Deleted the Partnership, soft reset, set up a new Partnership. It still won't resolve those items. Says attention required. Hang with me. I do appreciate it.

Open AS on your desktop - does it have "Sync with server" option ticked at the bottom - if so untick it and try to sync again.

The syncronizing icon in the bottom right also won't stop spinning. The ipaq was a used gift, but they had lost the manual, so I don't have any place to figure this out. HELP!!!!

Very odd, Rob has gone through most fixes. Have a try over here at the MS PPC Support center.

Also, here is a link to the Product Manual for the 4355. You can download the pdf version to your PC/PPC.

I have the same problem he has. I've pretty much given up after trying all of the known solutions. I have no idea what the problem is. Anyone? Notes won't sync and it says attention required and is greyed out.
Still looking into it.
Thanks.
