Computer restarted during ROM-update..what to do?

I was updating my ROM on my IPAQ 4150 when my computer suddenly restartet.

Now the IPAQ is only showing a white screen with the HP-invent logo.

I've tried to reset, hard reset and removing the battery - and nothing help.

Does anyone know a way to install the ROM again without sending it in?

I've read a lot of posts in this forum, and on usenet, and found some of the answers. I've established contact with the PDA through MTTY. I can now download a ROM image from the SD-card via the sd2r command.

I have a card-reader, and the trouble is now how to get the ROM image on to the SD-card in the right format. I have
downloaded the rom update utility from HP and found the .nbf file. But when
i try to access the SD card from my card reader it says "flash card not
formatted". If I format it with FAT16 and puts the .nbf file on the card i
get en ERROR in MTTY.

I think I'm close - please help me finish this project.....

Regards

/CJ

Did you just try to rerun the ROM update? If ActiveSync still recognizes your Pocket PC, it should work.

If you have the update on your PC, you could just transfer it to the SD card via a card reader, and then do the update. Also, if you plug in your iPaq to the computer, does it recognize it as an attached device?

:D

My Ipaq is in Brick mode.........

I had the same problem when I went to update my Ipaq h4150 rom. It stopped with an error half way through the rom update. It is now on the white screen with the hp invent logo in the center and the numbers on top. I am able to do functions with it on mtty program through the usb. I just dont know how to get the rom on the sd card so it can read it. In the mtty program it has the function sd2r wich will dump the rom from the sd card to the ipaq. I just dont know what format to put it in because it says format unrecognizable when I try to run the command. Can someone help me out? Thanks so much!
