Can't Receive web Pages/Online Video
Newbie here, so apologies if this has been asked many times before..
I can connect to my wifi at home and surf the internet if I type in the IP address. If i just type "www.google.co.uk" or whatever, it says "page cannot be found".
I'm hoping there must be a configuration issue here. Anyone else fixed it?
ALSO.... Whilst surfing (using IP addresses which is very tedious) I couldn't get any sites to desplay video, even oned that display it on a normal PC.
Does this mean that I can't expect the 4150 do display any kind of streaming video, and I should just put up with it?

Hello.
Welcome to the site,
This sounds like the DNS problem. Are you running DHCP or use assigned IP address. And what is your router?
If you are using Linksys or Netgear router, normally they adopt themselves as DNS servers, therefore if you are using assigned ip, just go ahead and punch in your Default Gateway IP address as your DNS Address. Just primary is good enough. See if this helps.

Hyedipin...
Thanks for the reply....to answer your suggestions

Don't know...how can I tell?
And what is your router?
It's a D-Link 604T

How do I find the Default gateway address?
Sorry if these questions are a bit basic, but that's the level I'm at now...

How did you setup your internet? Did it just connect by itself without you doing anything?
You would have dig into the internet connection settings.
As for DHCP, I am not familiar with D-Link routers, but if you go to your routers config (generally http://192.168.1.1) you can check if DHCP is on or off. I gotta run out but will post more when I am back.

Thanks again for the help....
The ipaq connected almost immediately to my wifi, and asked me for the WEP code. having entered that, the "connected" icon appeared, but I couldn't get any web pages using Pocket IE.
I'll have a look into the connnection settings this evening.
There are other PCs connected wirelessly to my wifi that work fine, so I thought the problem must lie with the Ipaq, rather than the router (but what do I know?)

So using zero config it just grabbed and IP and connected, seems like it is on DHCP and running everything just fine, but DNS doesn't seem to operate well. This is a puzzler.

FIXED IT !!
Turned out to be the wireless Router needed resetting (power off-on), despite communicating with every other PC in the house except my ipaq.... I've discovered that any configuratiion changes don't get applied untill you power-cycle....thanks, D-Link for a week of wasted evenings!
Thanks go to hyedipin for all the help and support.... I'm sure there will be more "issues" as I get more into this amazing gadget......

Well, sometimes thinking of the most complicated won't help.. Gotta try the simplest. I didn't think of asking you to reset the router, it sounded like "are you sure it is plugged".. :) I would always get mad at the tech support when I called them, and first thing they say "please turn off and turn on".. I would act as if I am doing it but I don't because I have already done it many times.. Heh!
Glad it is fixed.
Yes, I also love iPaqs, they made great line of products with those. I remember when compaq sold them for $1200...
