Why my I-5555 keep freezing up?
I just bought my I-5555 on December 31 but it freezing up most of the time. For example when I use Resco Explorer and click on the window folders it slowly opens or freezes up. I know it's not Resco because it was doing it before I even installed it. Is this something common?

No, freezing like that is not common on a brand new state of the art device.

The only thing I can suggest is to try a hard reset and if that doesnt work then you can call HP and put your warranty to use.

Hope that helps.

First try removing Battery Pack. I have heard that Battery Pack can cause lockup problems.

Another possibility, if you have a large memory card installed but did not put a 'My Documents' folder on it, that can cause programs to open slowly or not at all. After adding the folder, delete the 'ignore_my_docs' file which was automatically placed in the root directory of the card.

I learned the hard way when I first got a 512 card - I added about 300 megs of programs and music and it would take my Axim about 5 minutes to open certain programs. If those programs were open when I shut it off, it would take as long just to start back up. Added the My Docs folder, deleted the ignore file, and everything was back to normal.

I also saw this issue happen with an older copy of Battery Pack. Once I updated to the latest release the problem was corrected.

My PPC also stopped locking up when I removed the mem and battery meter from the top nav bar.

This what is happening with my IPAQ 5555, when I open or close a program sometimes it takes too long to open or close and it slows down so much that it seems as though it is freezing up. If I try to open another program or even turn the IPAQ it won't respond at all. Then I am forced to soft reset.

I did removed the battery pack program, but I am still using journal bar, wisbar, winci and some free games.

Which version of Journal Bar are you using? Version 2.0 and 2.01 has a reported memory leak problem by several users who is using it.
