Password timer delay inaccurate
I set my h5555 password protection with "PIN AND Fingerprint" - "Prompt if device not used for 12 hours" but it prompts me after 10 minutes.

Has anybody experienced this behavior?
in fact the "hours" setting makes no difference, it just prompts me after about 10 min regardless.

I am not using the password option, only the fingerprint scanner, however I am encountering the same problem.

You are right bubbadawg,

I also experience the same timer delay inaccuracy w/o fingerprint, it must be a system bug.

I don't know if this is related to timer inaccuracy, but,
sometimes the Alarm doesn't go off untill I turn on the PPC, I used to use the alarm to wake up, but this is very unreliable. has this happen to you too?

I called HP last night and they had me do a hard reset and the problem still persists. I am going to call them back tonight and see what the next step is that they recommend. I really don't want to send my unit back. If more than one person is having the problem, it must be a software bug and not simply an issue with my unit.

Can anyone else who owns a 5555 comment on whether or not they are having the same problem with the biometrics reader?

Thanks

This issue has been addressed before. When using a 5555 with Windows Mobile 2003, it functions incorrectly because of a software bug. The same thing happens with the 5455 when it is upgraded from PPC2002 to WM2003. Even if you turn off the timer, it will still ask you for fingerprint recognition. That is why I don't bother upgrading to WM2003.

Thanks! Maybe you should work for HP, because they certainly don't have a clue. Glad I haven't wasted any more time with them.

Thanks again.

I would work for them, but I am only 15. I just love PDAs and PocketPCs, iPAQs specfically. If only I spent this much time on schoolwork I would be a genius.
