If I get a 5455 with 2003 OS can I remove it and install 2002?

Thanks

Legally no. Technically it might be possible if the 5455 ever shipped with 2002.

The 5455 does not have Windows Mobile 2003 installed. It came out a few months before the WM2003 platform was released.

It is my understanding that if you downgrade, all you have to do is run the original CD. I know of people who have installed WM2003 and it conflicted with some things, so they went back to PPC2002. I think he just did a hard reset...but now that I think of it, a hard reset only resets RAM, the ROM wouldn't be touched...hmmm.

Well I'm assuming that you don't own both OSs since PPC 2002 is not available for retail sale and you said that it came with WM2003 Not trying to be a smart-arse, but that's why I thought that.

If you did purchase it with 2002 and then upgraded to 2003 then it would be legal to downgrade.

Yep, hard reset would not put it back. When you upgrade to 2003 some OEMs included a process to allow you to backup and restore the 2002 ROM.
