Cases for the 5555
I wanted to know if anyone has upgraded their case for the 5555. Is there something that is more thin and covers the screen. Also if you do not have a Expansion Slot then the connector is always open and a lot of dust tends to build up there. Please direct me to some good websites where I can see some cases.

Thanks a lot.

AFAIK, no one has cases open for expansion packs unless you buy the Silver Slider Expansion Packs that have the case built in. Sorry

I *believe* I've seen some of the hard cases with the plastic screen protector built in without either a cf or pcmcia slot. Sold strictly as a screen protector accessory. Might be on HP'w web site, I'd have to go back and look. You might also look on Ebay.....
I bought my expansion pack for the reasons you mentioned, and for expandibility.

Yup, I found it on HP's factory store. I think this is what you asked about:
http://www.shopping.hp.com/cgi-bin/h...owse_link=true

If the link is to long or doesn't work, the part number is FA119A#AC3, and sells for 19.99 usd

Check out the following case, it is made by Targus, a bit pricey but it covers the screen, also you can remove the back when you add an expansion pack.

wzielinski, the case you listed is the CoverPack which is a case that comes with every iPAQ unit.

Just a question: Has any 5455 / 5555 user experienced any scratching or dmage caused by the CoverPack that came with it? And if so, how did you fix it?

I didn't get one with my new 5555, so I guess I just missed the boat?
Just a bit of sarcasm.....
That cover *looked* like it was a slide on sleeve with a hard plastic cover...just like the other sleeves, but without the space for add-in cards (pcmcia or cf)

It is a case which acts like a sleeve so it covers the expansion port.

I hate the scratches caused by that case. That's why I won't use it. There has to be a better solution.

I got the cover pack with my 3970 which I like alot. It was not included with my 5555 (bummer) so I always slip it on the unit I'm taking with me.

Like most of you...the search continues for the perfect cover!

WOW. I even got mine with my h5455 refurb! Anyway, I know Vaja's cases (some of them) cover the expansion poart, however that will run you about $100 for a really superb one (even though they all are.) Check them out at www.vajacases.com

I'm going to order mine soon.

My iPaq PCMCIA PC Card Expansion Pack PLUS + Bat should arrive next week. I like the default plastic sleeve that came with the 5455..mainly the clear screen cover.

Going to see if I can cut off the expansion cover and add the battery pack on it.

Should find out by wed.

Wow!. That looks like one tough case. Did you see a price mentioned anywhere? I camp a lot during the summer and that would be nice protection in the woods.
