Lost SD card data
I've just installed Pocket Mechanic (latest V1.45) and did a SD card benckmark. All went fine, then did a soft re-set - almost all data on the SD card is gone! It still shows the same amount of memory taken up, its just hdden or atleast not accessible.

Same situation as http://www.antontomov.com/cgi-bin/ik...=ST;f=23;t=318

I haven't lost important info, its just the hassle of having to install everythign again. Is there a free undelete app that works with SD cards?

Thanks
James

Sorry to hear about that.

It sounds like for FAT table is corrupt. Even if you use an app to get things back I would not trust the card being stable after that. I would format the card to ensure that the FAT table is rebuilt and then reinstall your files and apps.

Lost data on SD Card
I had the same thing happen to me and I thought i had lost all of my programs on my SD Card. What I did was put that SD card in my 2215 and saw that all of my programs were still there. So I soft reset my 5555 without the SD card and then reinserted the card and check for data and everything was ok. You may also try a hard reset without you card in the unit and then try to see if you can see your data. Hope this works for you.

Thanks for the help guys.

I got bored and re-formatted and re-installed everything again - I should have tried a soft-reset on the 5555 without the SD card in (damm!) Luckily I didn't have anything of great importance on the card - just games, apps and music videos.

I'll know for the future!

Thanks
James

They're Scamdisk cards right? Losing information is pretty normal for these cards.

Lost Data
You are not the 1st to say that however I have several and never really had any problemswith them. I have only had minor problems with the unit seeing the data on the cards. which this was rather a simple fix.
