Cannot sync with Outlook
Hey, I was wondering what to do with this message I get every time I sync with my computer:
"Microsoft Outlook is no longer installed, so ActiveSync can no longer continue to run. To continue synchronization, re-install Microsoft Outlook. If you no longer want to synchronize your data, disable synchronization in ActiveSync."
What's up with that? I have Windows XP, with Microsoft Office 2003 running (which includes Outlook). I have downloaded all the updates available on Hp's website. My ipaq is the h5555. Any help would be appreciated. By the way, this is an AWESOME website . My thanks to whoever started this site.
I can't wait for the new Ipaq's to come out!!!! Hey HP, it's July already....where are the new Ipaq's?????????????????????????????????

Can you run Outlook on your computer? It almost sounds like Outlook is either corrupted or Activesync is very confused (that would not be surprising). I would first uninstall Activesync and reinstall it if you have not done that already. Make sure that you are using the latest version. If that does not work then I would look at running install for Outlook and running repair.

Download and install 3.7.1 activesync at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...ivesync37.mspx
but first uninstall (control panel> add or remove programs) your old version and disconnect the usb cable at the back of the computer. Don't try to just unplug the cable from the cradle because that will not work. YOu have to unplug it at the back of the computer. Then download and proceed to install the new version. Follow the on screen instructions and plug the usb back into the computer and dock the pda when directed to. That will fix the problem. Good luck!
