Please help......Another DROP story
Ok,I was always the one reading the forums saying I would be more carful and never drop my 5455.
Well today(my birthday) I was at work climbing on a vehicle lift when my ipaq fell out of my shirt pocket.(I never keep it in my shirt).
It fell about 3 feet on concrete.
When I finished screaming I went to turn it on and got the hp welcome screen just fading out.Since then the screen just stays white.
I did a hard reset and soft.I even took it apart and made sure nothing got disconnected.
Other then the blank white screen it seems to be working.I hear all sounds and I hear all the beeps when I hit some buttons.
I am(as we speak) now upgrading the unit to 2003 PPC.In hopes that it messed up my software.
I guess I would have no problem replaing the screen but I feel its possible that its not the screen. It lights up perfect but just stays white.
When I sync it I can even look at files on my PC.
I really cant afford to buy another one.
I cannot believe I dropped it. I love this thing sooooo much!
PLease tell me theres something I can do.
Thanks in advance.
John

What a nightmare, I would definately call HP to see if they can repair, There is also a link on this site that you should check out http://www.ipaqrepair.co.uk/. Either way I hope everything works out for you, Don't feel to bad I have dropped at least 3 PDA's causing considerable damage.

Sounds like it is a straightforward screen replacement, if you choose to have it repaired.
