How do I turn off my Ipaq H5550
Pressing the off button doesn't seem to turn the system off - how do I turn it off? Any help would be appreciated.

I got a program called PowerTap that I placed in the Start Menu. Keeps down the wear and tear on button.

You should probably try a soft reset and see if that 'unlocks' your power button. Sometimes a software conflict will cause what you are describing. If that doesn't work, you may have to bite the bullet and try a hard reset to clear things up. If THAT doesn't work, I'd call HP, if it's still under warrenty, and see if they have any suggestions. Remember, though, that hitting the power button doesn't actually turn the ppc off, it just puts it to sleep and turns off the screen.
Let us know how you make out.

If a soft reset doesn't work, before you try a hard reset, try removing the battery for 10-20 seconds. That may help.
