outlook: sending mails with account which differs from incoming mailsrv
Hello !

I have following problem: I want to send emails with an authentification over asmtp.t-online.de (outgoing email server) which differs from the authentification of pop-mail.t-online.de (incoming mail server). Just for your info: the reason is that we have in our company mirror mailboxes to be able to receive and also send from external destination.

for example:
my normal address is: jerzy@examplecompany.de; pwd: abc
my mirror address is: j@examplecompany.de; pwd: xyz

For receiving mails from external, I use j@....account information and for sending email from external I use jerzy@...account information (b/c this is my official email address).

i tried a few times to configure my outlook (pocketpc h5550), but it always send as j@.... instead if jerzy@....... the receiving of mails works, but the sending not !

I know from the outlook desktop version that it is possible to configure with different account settings (different userid, diff. pwd) the outgoing mail server. But is this somehow possible with outlook on pocketpc ???

Please help !!

Jerzy

I don't think it's possible with the version supplied with the pocket PC. One possibility I could think of is that you simply set up a separate account for sending. It won't be too easy to reply and I'm not sure what happens when it tries to receive email from that account (since I couldn't see any option for turning off the 'receive' function).

I know there are some other pocket email programs. Maybe one of them will allow you to do it from a single account.
