5450 USB Sync Wont work, can i still use with Tom tom

just bought a second hand ipaq and the usb sync will not work, im not happy

can i fix this myself?

im new to ipaqs the reason i bought it was for tom tom gps. does this software require the usb sync to install and use in every day life can i just install it on a memory card there for i dont need the sync

What is the exact error message you are getting.
I am unable to sync via usb (although I am fairly certain this is something to do with the Active Sync version not the Ipaq) but I use Tom Tom quite successfully without it.

well first i got nothing, like it was not connected, then i squeezed the cradle plug with some pliers and every now and again it syncs. Some times i have to hold it unside down to get it to sync (bad connection)

Anyway i have ordered a new sync cable, hopefully it wont be the ipaq thats the problem.

I have also tried to install tom tom, but it needs to sync with the ipaq so it looks like i will have to wait.

Did you try synching via IR as this doesn't require using the connector at the bottom or a cable at all?
