H5550 won't stay on without AC

Hi,
I recently replaced my battery on my H5550, as the old one was completely dead.
It worked fine, and held its charge a lot better than the old one ever did.
I only use my PDA for occasional Sat Nav use, so occasionly it runs flat.

Anyway, the most recent charge saw the battery go to 100% as well as the backup battery. But, as soon as the AC adapter was removed, it switched off, and doesn't turn on without it.

Is this a common problem? Is it the backup battery that has gone, as each time I turn it back on, with the AC in, I have to set the whole thing up again.

Check the door switch, the battery terminals, and finally.....is it a OEM battery, or a knock-off ebay brand?
How old is the battery?

You could also try cleaning the battery contacts as well as the contacts within the PPC.

Thanks for replying.
Its a cheapo ebay one I'm afraid. But it did work fine. But I was thinking perhaps its not the battery, and maybe something else. As I can get it to display its 100% charged, as well as the backup battery. But when I remove the AC, and put it back in, they have both lost their charge.

I'll try cleaning all the contacts aswell.
