bluetooth in car problems
I just switched to the 6300 from a sony t610...in my car I have a bluetooth system that worked great with the t610, an almost works with the 6300.

What is working is if I get a call on the phone it will come up through the system, and work as it should. I just can't make calls out through the phone from the car nor get the phone's phone book.

The in car system allows you to push phone numbers, (like say out loud "dial xxx-xxxx"), and the phone will dial it. However the 6300 comes up with a popup stating "call can not be completed as dialed", and stops.

The phone is also susposed to be able to push its own phone book up to the car so you can scroll through your phone book on the radio...this also isn't working.

Comparing the features on the 6300 and the t610 I notice the 6300 bluetooth settings is missing the 'object push' feature from all of its bluetooth modes. I believe this is holding me up and preventing me from getting it to work. Any idea if the 6300 implements this feature, how to turn it on, or how to get any decent help?

I e-mailed hp this morning...they are directing all inquires through tmobile, who I have yet to hear back from. I also wrote the guys who wrote the bluetooth drivers to see what they have to say...no word yet from them either.

Was wondering if anyone had any expereince with bluetooth headsets acting this way.

Thanks

I got a 6315 because my SE P900 wouldn't connect in my wife's Acura TL and her T610 would.

What car do you have? I haven't been able to connect my 6315 with her car either.

And I'm not sure if we'll be able to dial out. I can't find anything on Voice Activation for the 6315.

Maybe we can figure this out together and help others.

I have a 2004 BT enabled Prius. I have the same problem, exactly. I did talk to T-Mobile, who was clueless. I then did manage to get to Level 3 of tech support at HP. They confirmed the problem is with all BT enabled cars. They are investigating a software fix that would build a BT stacker that would correct the problem. They seem to realize they have lots of upset customers. If I get any more feedback from them I will post it here.

BMW Bluetooth
I am having the same problem, I can pair the unit, initiate calls from the 6315, and recieve calls using the in car BT unit. I can't initiate a call from the in car BT unit, view the address book or view SMS messages on my NAV screen.

My Nokia phone works perfectly. Hopefully HP will fix the problem quickly.

Please Help

It seems you guys have been able to at least have some communication between the HP IPAQ 6315 and the PRIUS. I can't get anything to work. What did you guys do? I can't get past the phone recognition screen on the PRIUS. PLEASE HELP. Can someone give me a STEP-by-STEP of what you did so far?

thanks much

Have you been able to pair the 6315 with the car? In my BMW you must turn the ignition on while pressing the pair button, then a pairing message will appear on the NAV screen, on the 6315 I initiate a new connection via the BT manager, once it finds the BMW BT unit, it asks to enter the BMW BT pass key. Once you enter the pass key both units are paired. You only need to this once. Then I must do a soft reset everytime I get in the car for the 6315 and the BMW to connect. I then can only make and answer calls from the 6315. The only functionality I have is the car's speaker and mic.

Dartmouth responds

Yes, it has asked me to input the 4-digit key into the phone, and this has been accomplished successfully. I did not try the software reset strategy yet .... I have not yet been able to get anything in the way of using the car for calls in any way, are you aware of a bluetooth patch that HP is writing for T-Mobile users owning the 6315??

I was able to pair the 6315 with an Acura, but it does not work as smoothly as a regular cell. You must answer and initiate calls with the phone and then the car takes over. But I didn't have any problems pairing the two.

I had this problem too - seems to be preety much what you guys have reported, can make a call from the phone and hear it through car and can recieve calls through the car but no phone book and can't make calls through the car.

I've got a P910i at the moment and am looking for a good phone (not a T610) that will work with the car. I really really liked the h6340 but as it didn't work I took it back to the shop.

I loved it so much that I am now condidering getting a T610 and an iPaq - will mean two lumps (!!!) in my pocket but a tleast I'll have an iPaq and be able to make calls in my car.

The other option is to have 2 phones, one for the car and one for me. This will either mean 2 phone numbers which will be a pain and cost more or I'll have to swap my sim all the time which is too much of a pain.

Please let me know if any of you make any progress with this as I am finding it very frustrating and has put a bit of a damper on my new car!!

Same problem with a 6340 and Audi A6 MMI
Guys,

I experience the same problem.
My 6340 pairs problemless with the Audi A6 MMI-system.
Incoming calls are treated well, outgoing calls can only be initiated on the phone and not on the MMI-car kit.
A Nokia 6310i works perfectly with this Car kit.

I'm interested in possible solutions.

Regards, Henk

BT in BT enabled cars
My guess is the new ROM patch from T-Mobile (if it is ever released) will take care of this problem.
