h6315 E-Mail Issues
Hi,

A lot of people seems to have problems with email settings or the way emailing works in 6315.

I have one also and it is kind of major cause it complately locks down the device. I can not do anything unless i soft reset.

I used t-mobile for setting up the email. You know that setting. The one with your phone number is your username and myemail.t-mobile.com is incoming and outgoing mail.

It works fine sometimes but yesterday i got my emails returned back to me... It looks like my email server did not understand what the heck "myemail.t-mobile.com " was trying to do to.

Sometimes it takes so much time to send&receive... especially when using GPRS. Then when i try to close the email program... thats when the ppc gets locked down. (I tried disconnecting GPRS or cancelling send&receive before closing the program... it worked fine)... I dont know if this is a problem or not but very annoying.

ANother question? Why in the Gods name we should use T-Mobile to fetch our email? It offers what to us besides "email trigger" (which also is another unstable feature) compared to setting up the email manually (conventional way)?

thanks

I got the same problem with pop3 email. I can receive but cant not send mail. It has this msg all the time:
The msg could not be sent. Check that you have network coverage and that your account information is correct. Then try to sending again

Also, I couldn't use IE to check my yahoo mail ( I didn't get that problem with my old T-mobile pocket phone)

I had the same problem with SBC Yahoo! Mail and my work e-mail. I was able to resolve the Send issue by checking Outgoing e-mail server requires authentication.

Hope that helps.

I set my up conventionally (POP3) after trying the T-Mobile setup. I couldn't see any advantage.
