Ringtones and vibration?
Does the phone allow for custom ringtones? What formats does it support (mp3, wma, etc.)? Also, is it loud for me to hear, or does it also vibrate? Just a few questions before jumping in the pool.

The rings can vary in volume. It does support digital media for ring tones. Yes, it does have vibrate. (Will vibrate right off a table too.

I would like to know how to use a MP3 as a ringtone also. I would think you could do it. You can make your own recordings and using them as ringtones. How do you do it with MP3's?

I'm not sure about this yet, I plan to try it later. I think in order to get the mp3 onto the device, you'll have to sync it with ActiveSync by placing it the synchronization folder on the desktop.

You can not use an MP3 in its form, but you can pull a section of an MP3 out and convert it to .wav and add it to the unit. Then select it as the ring... keep bumping this thread and I will provide a pictorial when I get a moment...

.wav
it is not so difficult! On you PC open Media Player , in the copy section select the song, copy to Ipaq or SD card.
It will convert the song to .wna automatecly.
to comlete just move the wna into " windows/Rings" directory on the PDA...

Has anyone confirmed that this works? I don't understand what he is saying. If I open media player on my PC, I don't have a COPY SECTION.???

I don't have an Ipaq 6315, but I'm assuming he means in the Windows folder NOT in media player, put your files in there.

I for one would definitely be interested to hear how to convert mp3s to wma, so that it can be used for the ringtone.
i dont believe windows media player supports this..

me too. Cause the copying to the windows ring folder does nothing but put a copy of .MP3 in there.

I would just like to have a standard LOUD ring tone that you actually hear. Do you know if ring tones can be downloaded from t-mobiles site?

Bone,
The Old style Phone Ringer is incredible loud. Use it in Combo with vibe, and you wont miss a call. I can hear it from the other side of my house.

Perhups I missed some steps; you can use any sound or song as a ring tone if it is in .wna format and placed on your pda in the internal memory: in the rings folder inside the windows folder.

Now to create a .wna file!
I was be able to use Window Media Player 9 to convert an mp3 file!
That was possible in the section where you can copy to a mobile device.
Take a look in the preferences.

an other way is to use a sound editor , like the one in the nero software...

I have not foud a way to make the rings lauder? Anyone?

Hi...
Forgive my ignorance, but i cant find the preference setting you were speaking of. I have put my copy settings to wma file, but still get an mp3 after copying an mp3 file to the device.
What am i doing wrong now?
Thanks...
