Crashing All The Time - Who's Stable and What Apps Do You Run?
My 6315 needs a soft reset just about every 5 minutes. I turn it on, it goes idle and shuts off - but can never come back on except w/ a soft reset. I tried turning off the email trigger and uninstalled Pocket Plus. Neither had any effect. It's weird, sometimes it's stable for hours. But more than not, it will lock right away. I was wondering, for those that are running stable - what apps are you running on it?

Thanks guys.

Have you got Microsoft Voice Command installed?
I had to take it off the machine for exactly this problem.

I've no idea who I should complain to. .....

I'm sure Bill gives a $%^&* .

Mine crashed all the time unil I took of Pocket Plus. Now only reset maybe one a day, and that reset is usually to reset the bluetooth.

same problem here too - removed pocket plus, then did a hard reset and it's been perfect since then.

ok, don't get my started about microsofts BS operating systems, but heres a couple of my obersavations about all the lockups i've experienced, all of wich will lock up your phone too so you miss all your f'n calls untill you happend to notice that your pda is lockedup and half to do a soft reset - do i sound spitefull? naaaa

anyway, don't shut your pda off, or let it go into standby on its own, while you still have an application open. If you do, depending on the applicaton it'll lock up the pda, requring a soft reset to get it going again. - so get into the habit of closing applications (well minimizing, cause for some retarded reason microsh*t didn't make it posible to conviently close apps without installing some 3rd party app like pocket plus)

Same thing goes for bluetooth, causes a lot of lockups, at least 1-2 a day depending on the usage - not sure what to say about that.

On a positive note, when it works, its a joy to have, but if i'm expecting important business calls, i always swop my sim into my other phone - thanks HP, great product testing!

1. I installed phatware phatpad 2 and started getting a lot of lockups, uninstalled and it seems to be better.
2. I had the calligrapher issue earlier and the registry hack definitely fixed that issue.
3. As everybody has reported the BT stack is crap and requires soft boots on a daily basis.

I've had mine for a week and I think this is my first post here. I've only loaded uBook, Pocket Informant and the T-Mobile update and have had to soft-reset only once or twice. I also downloaded and uninstalled right away a program called Taskplus. That was one of the times I reset though that may have been because of an improper uninstall. So, at the midpoint of my 14-day trial period, that's running plenty stable for me -especially considering this is a new and bleeding-edge device. On Friday, I had time to call T-M tech support and they were very helpful in setting up my email which I had been unable to do on my own. BTW, I was having trouble sending and receiving out of my Comcast account on the 6315 this morning: I found that turning off wi-fi fixed it. My only recommendation is that you contact T-M tech support -they've been very helpful.

May be this can help. I make sure all the wireless devices are turned off before turning the unit off. This includes GPRS. Very few lock ups since. I also disabled the standby mode. So I turn it off when I want it to go on standby. Can go days without soft reset.

Can you help with the calligrapher issue? I have one and will appreciate your help.
