If you're not worried about quality (and who should be, being that it's a ringtone) you can put your favorite .wav file in the "rings" folder in the Windows directory. You can use dbPowerAmp to convert a .wma or .mp3 to a .wav file, then you audacity (a file editing software) to remove your favorite clip to use in a ringtone.
I actually read this in another forum, but the forum escapes me now. Just trying to get (partial) credit where credit is due.
Also, the links to those programs escape me, but I'm sure you can google them easily. They're fairly popular.
