Should I Buy a T-Mobile 6315?
I have T-Mobile service and I like the ideal of what the IPAQ can do in theory. Here is what is important to me.

1. I want to be able to sync with outlook, my contacts and calendar.

2. I want to be able to use the phone on vibrate when I am in Court. I am a lawyer.

3. I want to be able to connect to the internet in my office or at home through my wireless network. I want to be able to download web pages for viewing offline. Will I be able to do this?

4. I want to be able to get on T-Zones whereever I am at. I will not likely pay to subscribe to get on the internet from anywhere or through hotspots.

5. I want to be able to listen to music, take pictures and play games.

6. I am not really that interested in Bluetooth or sending or receiving emails.

7. Should I get this phone or are the problems too much?

6315 is the perfect gadget for this.

2. I want to be able to use the phone on vibrate when I am in Court. I am a lawyer.

The phone can vibrate and all but it is not very relaible (yet). Nobody knows why they (we) get voice mails sometimes although the phone was on and not occupied. (except the GPRS connections)

3. I want to be able to connect to the internet in my office or at home through my wireless network. I want to be able to download web pages for viewing offline. Will I be able to do this?

Yes. You can do it all but dont forget the fact that this is a 200MHz pocket pc. Dont expect a lot in terms of speed. Heavy web pages will make you go nuts.

4. I want to be able to get on T-Zones whereever I am at. I will not likely pay to subscribe to get on the internet from anywhere or through hotspots.

You wont pay as long as you can find an unsecure wifi connection. Check your nearest neighbour As far as T-zones concerned... There is no such a thing as a free lunch.

5. I want to be able to listen to music, take pictures and play games.

Listen music? Sure but not when you are taking a walk or in the car. Dont try to skip to the next song. You will kill eveybody on the road.

Games... Nothing 3-D or heavy. Solitare would be just OK.

6. I am not really that interested in Bluetooth or sending or receiving emails.

Thank God. This is where 6315 kills (really!) Hopefully HP or MSFT or T-Mobile or "us" will come up with an upgrade...

7. Should I get this phone or are the problems too much?
Depending on the 7 questions... I say: "Dont". But if you dont get frustrated often with computers and related problems... this is the gadget you need. I love it. I am a tech-mashocist.

My personal view: "Nothing is out there as simple/sophisticated as everybody can enjoy using it."

Anyone wants "fashionable"? Gadget suggestions: I-pod, Treo, Blackberry

1. Contact syncing with Outlook is completely painless.

2. This phone probably has the strongest vibrate motor ever installed (in a mobile device, anyway); the vibrate is nearly as loud an the (somewhat whimpy) ring tones.

3. WiFi connectivity is almost as painless as Outlook syncing.

4. GPRS doesn't work very well (if at all).

5. You can listen to music, but the camera is a bit weak, and the processor is a bit slow for those more vigorous games.

6. Just as well.

7. The biggest problem with this phone (bluetooth) won't affect you, but you may want to research your options before deciding on a 6315...

7. You may discover the bugs in this telephone too overwhelming to continue using it. I lost important messages from my wife telling me to come home because the baby was sick, and from clients who needed my attention when my phone randomly stopped listening to the GSM signal. I also missed at least one important call when it crashed on trying to press the reset button.

You may also have a problem with the fact that neither HP or T-Mobile supports this phone or acknowledges its problems.

I think the next generation of these phones will be better, I just hope we start seeing them. I'm waiting for the HTC Magician. The phones coming out overseas are pretty sharp.

I'd probably go against getting it and wait for the next generation. I'm sure you've seen the numerous posts on problems and quirks and it's really not worth it for this amount of money. I have to say I'm fortunate not to have as many problems as some but the phone alone is killing me. I would suggest a Blackberry or Treo (if you enjoy the Palm experience).

Don't buy one of these things. That's the advice I would give my best friend.
Who wants a phone that must be reset several times a day?
The feature set is great but the real world reliability is poor.
I've missed important calls because the phone had crashed and I didn't know it. I now find myself checking the device several times a day to see if it has crashed lately. Who needs the headache?
Wait until this type of device is much more reliable.

My experience did not match MikeD's, but I would say try one of the newer models (PDA2k for example) or hang tight a while for more models. This model does have a few issues.
