Can anyone tell me how to set MP3 as ringtone for H6365?
Is there any software can enable H6365 to use MP3 as ringtone?

I use a program called Audacity it's awsome for me. I can select a certian part of the song then save it converted to avi. and put in in my phone under windows>rings. I found it using google but here is the link where you can get it directly. Hope this helps.

Thanks sdstud212001 for recommending the audacity site. That's very useful. l suppose the files in windows>rings work only for ringtones and not for alarms? I've been trying to add alarm tones for tasks and clock without much luck. My device is the ipAQ 6365.

Export as AVI? Is this a new option? I haven't downloaded Audacity in a long time... maybe I should go back and check it out, cause all I can export in is Ogg, MP3, and WAV formats. Is it a plugin? What filesizes are you looking at in a 30 second ring (if you don't mind me asking)?

YES you can set an avi. as your alarm just save it in the windows folder. To set the avi just go to
Start>Settings>Sounds & Notifications>Notifications> select the event you want to modify> select your avi. and there you go.

Oh you can also adjust the volume of the avi (making it louder is what I do) just increase the + - on the left of the screen in Audacity (the title of the song is above it in a grey box i think)

falconbrad,
WHOOPS, I ment to say wav. sorry got so confused still new to this ppc thing, So correction save it as a wav. file by going to file>export as wav. sorry about the confusion.

Haha, it's all good... I was a little confused myself. Never heard of an AVI extension for music. I hate wmvs, but WAV files can be HUUUUUUUGE, even if the ring is just a small clip. Oh well, back to the drawing board... There are freeware WMV encoders out there that work well for ringtones, but I'm on a Mac, and to the best of my knowledge there are no Mac encoders, so I'm shit outta luck...

Hi sdstud212001, thanks for the quick reply. With the tip you provided I observed that ring tones can accept wav and wma file types but not mp3. Reminders and alerts can accept only wav file types. Now I understand... :-)
