more wireless problems
I have finally managed to connect to my home network (after re-installing the latest update of windows). I have fixed IP addresses.
If I want to connect to a roaming wi-fi point, I have to alter the settings to enable an assigned IP address. This is easy. However, when I return home, the opposite change is tedious, as I have to re-enter the IP address, gateway etc etc.
WinXP makes this easy, as the fixed IP addresses are all remebered, and return when you click the 'used fixed ip address' radio button. Pocket PC windows doesn't do that.
I suppose I could do a back-up/restore each time I swap over, but that's not ideal as I may lose downloaded e-mails and files in the process.
For the phone settings, you can use profiles - is there any way of using profiles to remember the 2 different network configurations?
Or any other suggestions... ?
Regards,
William
