Hi,
I too have been using the iPAQ 6315 since it came out and I've faced exactly the same problems that you've described. The o/s is unstable and this causes the frequent soft-reset requirement.
My recommendation is to give up on the iPAQ (in fact any HP product) and just use another PDA like Palm that's come with a Windows version. I'm going to do the same the minute my iPAQ takes exhausts its last byte, which will be soon.
Why do I recommend moving away from HP? Because HP has the worst customer support policy I've ever seen in any IT products manufacturer. The HP iPAQs are selling like hot cakes in India and yet HP will not support the product in India. They only have a ULR (Unit level replacement) policy, which means that even for the smallest hardware problem, you just have to junk the expensive phone you bought and buy another one at similar exorbidant prices!
I've had it with HP customer support and I think it's time everyone boycotted their products to teach them that customers (especially those who evangelise your expensive, cutting edge products) deserve more respect.
Cheers,
M

Sup all, I have had the hp 6315 since it 1st came out. I have had many other phones since then but I still never got rid of the 6315. Don’t get me wrong, the phone has a lot of problems. And needs to be restarted almost every day but still I kept it. And now it seems the good old days of having my 6315 are coming to an end. I am going to have to get rid of it because of a problem I am having now. The problem that I am having now is that the phone dies on me every hour. And so in order for me to get it working again, I have to take out the battery put it back in. Then it works again and even after that sometimes, it doesn’t work. When it doesn’t work, I have to hook it up to the comp and run an Active sync. Then it works, I really don’t want to buy a new phone. Like the hp 6315 again since they cost so much. I was wondering if any one has had the same problem and knows how to fix it. Please help if you can. Thank you
