Hi..

This info is from other forums by Bluelight.
Info for Ringtones on H63XX.

1) Cannot play Polyphonic Tones

2) Cannot play MP3's.

3) Can play MIDI but only single tone MIDI. Like the old phones you used to input tones in manually.

4) Can play WMA files.

5) Can play WAV files.

Your best bet is to use a Free converter to convert MP3 to WMA. Convert only 30~40 sec for 32kbps and MONO. Files should be around 140KB per file.

There's no use in converting it to Stereo cuz the Speaker is Mono and bluetooth headset are mono also.

Then save the files in your PDA under /Windows/Rings/

The select it under your ringtone manager.

Hope this helps people on Ringtone info.

I bought my 6315 before seeing this site. I probrably would not have gotten it had I found this site first. However, since I have had it I absolutly love it. I dont have any of the major problems stated here. The sound is a bit low but since I use BT it doesnt matter. I got the Motorola H300 headset and it works great for the price I paid for it (< $50). I listen to my MP3's over BT and it has a decent range within my office. The phone is clear and I dont drop calls at all (except in elevator). I have updated both the ROM and the wireless driver so that may have something to do with it. I got mine for <$250 on eBay and thats VERY reasonable considering the capabilities I get with it compared to other phones. My former PPC was the Seimens SX-56 (T-Mobile). I liked that one too but I am much happier with the HP.

But what I cant understand is why HP took WiFi out of the 6500 series.

I Love my 6365 Ive had mine since they were available. I bought my in Singapore and have had zero problems. I think mose problems stem from 3rd party software. be careful what you install. i hate to say this but generally you get what you pay for, a lot of free software just doesn't work right. Hope this helps you in your decision.

You need to re-size the picture that you want it to be a wallpaper.
or use software (Theme Maker Plus) to create your own theme.

Voice Recognition ??

Hi! New to the Thread.

Was wondering if anyone's ever heard of software for the 6315 that would allow voice recognition dialing. It'd be great for the headsets!

I've had this PDA for about a year and a half. I agree that the phone doesn't work as well as a classic Nokia or Motorola, but I bought it for the functionality of the PDA. I've also seen some improvements, when I've downloaded the later versions of Pocket PC. The only thing that really stinks is when you're looking for a WiFi connection, it searches until it finds some kind of signal and if the signal doesn't exist, you can't turn off the WiFi, so it drains your battery.

Gps

Has anyone had a success with using a GPS receiver with the 6315?
Or have a recommendation on where to find the best information?

Thank you,

What exactly did you change and in which registry? I found nothing on the link you posted.

Thanks

@ rprice99: You can download and install a freeware program to change the registry for Pocket IE for you without having to tamper with values. I use RegKing, but PocketTweaks or any other pay tweaking software will do as well: http://pocketpcfreeware.com/en/index.php?soft=683

Enjoy! :)

Voice Command: Yes. e.g. Micorsoft Voice Command
GPS: YES. Any normal Bluetooth GPS should work. But you need software too.
