When you download your free map from tomtom you can copy it too your computer before you install it. Then you don’t need internet connection to get it again. Now the big question is: Will it work on another hw6500 without activation?

Doesn't it ask you for your product id before you download the map ?

And the other thing to bear in mind is you can't navigate across maps.

The server automaticaly gets some id, but i want to know if the cab file i recieve works without activation on other hw6500 than mine(I would think so, i dont think they generate a cab and sent it.. But maybe.)

You can not navigate across city maps, so they're not much use unless someone is visiting just the small area they cover.
