First impression of my 6515
My 6515 has arrived and here are a few impressions/comparison with my old 6340.

Phone:
Much much better than the 6340, sound quality just as good as my "normal" Sony Ericsson Z600. Reception also seems better and i have yet to have to restart the phone when I've been out of range for a while. The volume issue while using headsets on the 6340 have yet to appear. (Apart from a bit up/down volume on my Jabra 250, but the person I was talking to had no problems hearing me.) The included stereo headset is very good with crisp, clear sound.

GPS:
Reception is very good, I have picked up 4 satellites while fiddling with the settings in bed, and I live on floor 5 of 6 in a building made out of concrete.

Screen:
Definite improvement, very clear and easy to read.

Sound:
The speaker is much better and the speakerphone is actually usable. Without thinking I set the volume to max to hear incoming SMS but had to turn it down, my coworkers complained that it was too loud.

Other good things:
The joystick is very good, MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH better than the appaling excuse of a joystick on the 6340.

Handling:
Too much to mention but most things are a tad better to use.

Bad things:
The joystick was only working left, right, down and press when I got the device. Replacement unit is on the way.

The screen size. It is not bad in itself but many programs can't be made to work, including my beloved pTravelalarm.

Conclusion:
Straight and simple, it is everything the 6340 should have been. A few minor problems but nothing that should stop anyone from getting one. Lets see how it holds up over time.

/D

Nice review. I have read several other places about apps not being really happy with the screen size.

I've seen a "list of apps that work on 240x240" on another forum somewhere, worth a google.

User can always request software developer to make it compatible as it due to commercial copy

I'm very happy too by my 6515.

GPS very fast and it's very power full ... in my house I have full reception it's very good.

The screen as a very fine size ... like a PC finally and It's not a hard work for a developper to change the screen size of an application ... I think quickly more and more application will be compatible with the square screen.

The keyboard is very easy to use and I never touch a wrong button when I write with it.

I enjoy my 6515.

I'm told any volume issues are fixed with models with a serial# greater than TWC533xxxx.

A good bluetooth headset for the IPAQ6515?
I'm very new to the IPAQ and just recently bought my IPAQ 6515.

Amongst all the questions i have I wonder if anyone knows of a good Bluetooth headset for the IPAQ6515?

I have tried the SonyEricsson HB65 and it does not connect at all. A friend of mine uses the Jabra but complains that it looses the connection intermittently during the day. The HP set does not have a microphone and I need the set for the telephone but of course it would be nice to listen to music as well.

I'm grateful for any tips that you can give.

Regards
Mac
