Back Door GPS Pings...
Sivell Corporation is a realtime application developer utilizing multiple types of wireless data terminals to direct workers through tasks and provide database resources to validate data elements as work is performed in either mobile or non-mobile locations.
These tasks include but are not limited to route accounting, inspections, mobile medical service rendering, oil field services/oil and gas collection, LTL and Intermodal Trucking, freight forwarding, and traditional warehousing and distribution.
While "interactive" GPS results from a PDA/PPC as a resource will take you to your desired location effortlessly, Sivell's use of GPS is to validate a device and vehicle/person using it are where they should be at a specific time...without the vehicle/person knowing of the GPS audit.
Before you go off on a Big Brother tangent... understand this has to do with dispatching and estimating delivery and arrivals at job sites.
We have pinged PPC and PDA (Treo) remotely with 100% accuracy and not a single retry over a route which was over 600 miles in length in rural settings.
I want to hear from anyone who has back doored a GPS enabled PPC without interaction with the person carrying the PPC. Did you experience challenges in acquiring the PPC GPS location data?
Thanking you in advance for your time and feedback.
