GPS for 240x240 screen?
Has anyone managed to get GPS working with 240x240 screen.

In Australia, the bundled software and "free map" is a rip-off. Sensis software plus a subscription to "download - as - you - go" map. NO FREE City MAP!!!

With this software, you need to download a tiny portion of the map at your current location every now and then. I can't find a way to just download the maps I need and store them on my 1GB card.

The subscription per 12 months is A$299 !!!!!

I mean, how often the road is moved. I would rather get a map and use it for a few years before I decide whether I need an update or not.

I just want my single City free map. Is it just me? Or I am not the only one?

Daves Ipaq has a thread about GPS apps that work with the 6500. Navigon, TomTom, Delorme and a few others. Not sure which ones has maps for Australia so check the thread out and give it a go.

I went and bought the Navteq software from HP's website designed for the hw6515. It works perfect for the square screen. I also have to say it works pretty darn well.

I highly recommend. But it did cost like $100.

Hi Noslr,

Yes agree Sensis product although not bad its too overpriced. Its not just subscription, but testing it a couple of days in LaTrobe valley put an extra 40 bucks in telephon charges on my bill.
Apart from that the moment you are off Princes Hwy to far, no mobile connection = no download = your are stuck unless you saved the map first.
Got TomTom free as part of pre Christmas promotion and yes map may not always be accurate given development, and yes they dont move Spring Street that often, so if I wouldnt have TomTom I'd be happy to pay the 400 bucks and use the thing for the next 10 years. You can download TomTom 5.21 and there is also a way to download 'one' citymap for free.
The product is good, support next to non existent and the web site a turnoff, but a little persistence might get you there

A$299 a year is a big rip off.

you can try garmin Que, it works well in 6515 if you have gpsproxy software install
