I've got the same problem, as I told AirBoss on another forum. In my case, when the card cannot get an address from the DHCP server (DHCP is served from a Win2K3 server on my network, not the router), it gets an APIPA address (auto-config), in the form of 169.254.x.x. I also get lots of Receive CRC errors. The router is fine because my husband can connect with his work laptop which has built-in WiFi, and he gets an IP address and gets out to the Net without ever authenticating on my domain.
Maybe it's a bad batch of cards from Spectec. I don't know. But I might get a Socket Go Wi-Fi E300 card to try next, and see if I have better luck.
