6945 brick fix?

I bought a 6945 on ebay and it was functioning and so I tried to download the latest rom update and it locked up saying it could not communicate with the computer even though the activesync was working fine. It displays a gray screen that says "serial" at the top and "vg. 39" at the bottom with the hp emblem in the middle. Hard resets don't work. It was under warranty so I sent it back and they said it worked fine and sent it back to me. So I don't know how they got it working again. So I tried downloading the rom again and did the same thing. So this time they sent me another 6945. Am wondering is there any way of getting it out of this veggy state? I tried removing the batterry and letting it go dead for days on end.
Any help would be appreciated.:)
Thanks

Try running the ROM update again. This time go with all the default settings (don't change the directory where the ROM file gets extracted). Remove storage cards, plug your pocket pc directly into AC power and the usb cord directly into a USB port on the computer (no usb hub). Turn off power saving options on the computer.

Well I did what you asked and it worked! Even though itwasn't going through active sych it loaded up and started working. Only problem now is it knocked active sync off the screen. I will reboot later after this thing charges completely.
Thanks so much!

Ok, it rebboted fine and activesync works although slower than my 3970.
Another question is the image transfer system through activesync. I can get the photos from the camera to download to the file in the software on the pc but when I put pictures into the pc image transfer file they don't go to the ipaq. Do I have to load via my card reader?
Thanks

I've never used the image transfer feature since I tend to avoid syncing stuff, especially media files, through ActiveSync as much as possible. These types of files do not need to be converted at all so, in my opinion, a card reader is always a better option - it is easy and much faster, and one less thing to go wrong during a sync.

Their website doesn't show it as one of the compatible devices. Are you using a 6945? Might be that it uses a mini sd.

Softick Card Export should work just fine on your pocket pc. It does not matter that you are using a mini SD card. Download the trial version and try it out. You may like it.

I tried loading it with the windows installer file as the 2005 cab files could not be unzipped. I got the program installed and when you push the connect button the "read button flashes a few times and then it won't do anything. When you push disconnect and it asks if you want to look at the pictures and if you hurry and click it it will show your pictures. But thats all I can do with it.

I have been working with this software for a long time
the effect of the pictures you see is due to difult name of pictures dir
if you will rename it at your camera settings to difrent name and also rename the dir on the card it will not pop this option

as for cardexport try to reinstall and if it dosent help try to see if you have a 3prt app that interfere the software operation
maybe I will upload for you the cab that I'm using
good luck

ps you cannot switch between cardexport and as when you are connected first you must unplug your device
