HP IPAQ 6915 Speaker Problem

Hello

I'd like to get your suggestion/support/help about the speaker problem of my device 6915.

Thinking that may be someone has experienced with the similar problem.

All the functionalities work well on the device, except the speaker. I tried the below steps, but still there is no sound on my device (e.g. phone ring, media player, key sound,...)

1- I replaced the speaker with an original HP speaker, but it does not work. Also the previous speaker it does not work. --which means probably not speaker-hardware problem.
2 -I made hard-reset-which means possibly not a software problem.
3- I checked the speaker connector on the board and it does not have any oxidation or damage.

One more thing:

I think, audio circuit has no problem. Because, when I connect a headset to device, this time there is sound coming from headset, I can hear the phone ring, media player, key sound,etc.--which means audio circuit is fine.

Has anyone faced with a similar problem? or If you have any idea or suggestion how I acn fix this problem. Please let me inform.

Thanks in advance.

This is a commonly reported problem with this pocket pc. You need to get the jack that you insert your headset into replaced. There is a small switch in the jack that toggles the sound back and forth between the speaker on the pocket pc and the headset by inserting and removing the headset plug. Some of the jacks seem to be defect so that when the headset plug is removed from the jack, the switch does not properly reset to the pocket pc's speaker. You could try jiggling something around in the jack and you may be able to switch the sound back to the pocket pc, but it is very likely that the switch will get stuck again. The jack needs to be replaced.

Insert the headset plug & take it out ,play with the plug but don’t use pressure on it ,there is a small switch that tells the device you are using headset and not to refer sound to the speaker, if this sw is stuck you may get such issues

You must go to the windows directory, menu VIEUW all Files and find the file BTCOREIF. Delete or rename this file. restart your PDA and evrything is ok

Note, I've already got the Windows Explorer set to view all files, but it doesn't show any of the extensions. The Resco File Explorer does show the file extensions and it is a ".dll" file "BtCoreIF.dll."

The one in the Windows folder/directory is "in ROM memory and cannot be deleted!"

Besides, I don't think it's a BlueTooth issue. I was hoping that btcoreif was software that had a switch in it preventing the headphone jack from switching back to "no headphone connected" mode. But, if it is, then it's Read Only and cannot be deleted. And, if it's not, then it's the wrong thing to do.

In either event, either I'm missing something or that was bad advice. If you've got other info, please let me know. I'm about to send the thing in for service tomorrow & will be without it for about a week. I've already removed the SIM, so I can tell you that using the keyboard on a flip phone is no fun, not to mention being without all the other functionalities.

I sent mine to PocketPCTechs and they fixed it in about a week. That means it was about a week from the time I shipped it to them until I got it back. May have been 8-9 days, but they were pretty quick. I was naked without it, and am whole again. Considering the fix & how happy I am with it, I'm very satisfied with the service. Plus, they did a RAM upgrade, and didn't have to hard reset the thing. Yippee!

The speaker on my X50V just quit working and I had the headphone jack recently replaced from Pocket PC Techs. Jiggling the jack around a bit restored the speaker so this baby is going back to Pocket PC Techs.
