Sound all the way down ?

I can't turn up the volume on my hw6915.

When i touch the speaker icon on the screen, i can turn it up, but when i exit and open it again, it's all the way down.

This is something that just suddenly happened, what can be wrong ?

I don't think it's the jack-switch, cause i never used it, and i guess that i still would be able to turn the volume up.

I had a similar problem but found it to be the "Sounds & Notifications" setting in the Settings screen - I had it set on vibrate. Even tho I changed it on my Today screen, it still went back to vibrate. Once I changed it in the Settings, then it worked fine.

But, now, I'm experiencing another problem. I'm only able to get any sound out of it when the phone rings. When I answer it, I can't get any sound out of it. I tape the Speaker Phone button, but it doesn't change over and the button doesn't indicate it's on speaker phone like it used to. If I plug in my headset, I can hear it just fine, but unplugging the headset leaves me without any sound. That includes playing an MP3 or talking on the phone. It works ok with either of my Bluetooth headsets and either of my wired headsets, but I can only get the handset and/or loudspeaker on the phone to work when I've got nothing connected and only for the ring & not for a conversation. I won'der what's wrong!

We installed TomTom 6 on my wife's 6945 (but not yet on mine), & we've had no audio problems out of hers. But, April has never used any headset with her 6945.

I hadn't thought to look there, but find nothing "wrong" there. I'm absolutely convinced the jack has gone bad on this thing.

I've emailed PocketPCTechs.com & the "stand-alone" charge is $60.00 to replace the jack. But because HP's price is so high, I'm going to have the folks at ppctechs do the RAM upgrade from 64mb to 128mb, & the repair cost of the jack will only be an additional $25.00. So I'll kill both birds for just slightly more $ than HP's cost to fix the jack alone! I'll report back on their service & the effectiveness of the upgrade, after I get the ppc back & have fully installed all my apps.

.
this is a bad profile settings
go to the profile and set it to outdoor
if you have a 3part profiles app please check its settings
it is not hardware melfunction ,hardware will not move your speaker settings.
it will work , not work or intermittent
a hardware melfunction (of SW) on your device will not give you indication on it stat :rolling:
but
go to your ipaq audio (start/settings/sys) and see if the device "thinks" there are headset plugd in
good luck:approve:

Yes, even tho I have no headset plugged in, the ipaq audio is set to answer the phone automatically after 3 rings with the headset plugged in. I believe this should be unavailable & grayed out when there is no headset plugged in. I have none connected, yet the option is still available & active, & still checked. that should pretty much prove that it's the little switch in the headphone jack.

I found out that things went wrong when i used TT6.032, but fine with TT6.030, so i just stay with this version.

No luck going thru the profile settings, but is working now, all is well.

Thanks for your help and answers.

no volume

Did you try the slider switch volume control on the left side top? How about a soft reset

The volume stays all the way up, I've turned it up & down & back up again. When the phone rings, the speaker is as loud as it gets. But, that's the only time the speaker works. The device thinks the headset is plugged in. And, I've done several (more than I can count, about every 3 days, or so) soft resets.

The headset jack has a switch in it that routes all the audio away from the speaker except for the phone ring. The thing works properly with both of my Bluetooth headsets, also.

From what I've been told, these are the symptoms of the switch in the headset jack gone bad. I just need to make sure I've got a correct & useable backup, yank my SIM & my 2gb miniSD, and ship the thing off to get it fixed. They also do a RAM upgrade, so I'm really looking forward to that.
