iPAQ 6945 and Macs

Does anyone have a Mac that syncs with their 6945?

How did you get them to sync? Are you able to get music onto the phone and play it?

Have you tried SyncMate?

You can copy .mp3 files directly to your SD card....no syncing necessary unless you want to transfer DRMed music to your device.

I really have NO experience with sync-ing or smart phones other than direct entry.
I had purchased the phone reassured by three separate customer service people that this phone was compatible with Macs... grrr.
After I got it home and couldn't play the disc with all the owner manual info, I called HP who refused to be of any help, since I owned a Mac. double grrr. After googling, I found the pocketmac program and paid for it. I had to fight the connection every time and only once in (oh say) 20 efforts was I even able to get it to sync my address book. GRRRR

I just downloaded the free-ware for SyncMate, but can't get it to acknowledge my phone.... Please help the madly whimpering woman in the corner... What do I do?

Oh, my Mac doesn't have a slot for my SD card. I think I have an iMac 5.
