I bought a Transcend 4gb card off of amazon it came with an SD adapter, is there something I need to do before putting the Mini SD card into my Ipaq before it will recognize it (like formatting or something?) I put it in there and it doesn't recognize it or anything any ideas?

The hw6900 does not naturally support SDHC cards. There is a hack that allows some WM5.0 devices to use some portion of SDHC cards and you can learn more about it and find a link to it here:

I been trying all morning to D/L that patch, I found it a few seconds after I posted but it appears that the website is down, by saying "some" of the storage on this thing are you saying I am only gonna be able to get like 2 gigs off the 4g capacity or what, its not to late to send this thing back and order an actual mini SD (I haven't looked at prices, I didn't even realize there was a difference until now)

Well I have the patch, but now the problem is getting the files into my Ipaq, I have read a few sites and I must not be doing something right...

It's a cab file, isn't it? If so, just copy the file to your pocket pc, tap it and it will open up and install.

I, personally, don't like to use hacks unless they are really necessary.....it's just one more thing to remember to do over again if you perform a factory reset.

Unless you have a compelling reason to use an SDHC card with your windows mobile device (like a camera that uses SDHC), I'd return the card and get a plain ole SD card. Here's a link to the 4 GB SD card I use in my hw6925....been using it now for more than a year with no problems.

Lol Julie you continue to remain one step ahead of me, I jsut a second ago figured out what I was doing wrong rather then copying the file as a .cab file I kept unzipping the .cab file contents into my doc folder on my pda, so I was not getting anywhere.. its up and running now and showing me 3806 MB which is on par with the overhead of a 4gb card id beleive THANKS!!
