read about hr installation then think of this action:)
at the end I think you will see that you are pointing out something like using the device file-explorer option = cut/paste :o
(please don’t tell me reg- try hr installation and then go to the reg)

èéøåï çãù - Page 5 - Pocket ôå÷è

NB from breley: I have received reports that the target site, pocket.co.il may be using an NMAP Null Scan, which is used to probe connecting OSes for open ports, so caveat surfer.

at the end of the heb post there is an ENG post
read about HR installation
aftere doing so i think you will see my point :o

4 new users it is very recommended to go over this 5 pages
only the last pages are with ENG translation, but 4 some picture will do
you will find DESTINATOR D7 & D6 & PN skin for 240x240 ....

I have no idea what you are talking about either.

Your posts do not say where you are from, but it is clearly not the US or the UK.

Use HR installation when ever it is possible
(for programs that are install to your card)
For doing so you need to HR your device, extract your mini sd , perform the cleaning of tip num 3 , insert the card and using file explorer go to sd card/program file
Enter to etch directory and tap on the EXE file 'this will reinstall the program 'if the program function o.k. then copy the EXE file and paste it as a shortcut in
Windows/start menu/program,
Remember don't use regular past! Choose the option of "paste shortcut to…"
Perform the above for all programs/directory in your card (plug-in will not work)
Now after reading point 4 from the link you can understand that most applications can function after HR without performing the traditional installation process

The app will function just if you tap on the main exe in the "sd/program files/app-dir "

At the first time after HR that you tap on the main exe all necessary value in reg will be set
So the only thing you are doing is copying the main EXE and pasting it as a shortcut
In " Windows/start menu/program,"

Now if you move an existing app ,all you need to do is move the app dir to wherever you want and then create a new shortcut to its main EXE by using copy/paste :o

I wouldn't dream of using a Hard Reset to install a program. I always either:-

1. Click on the *.exe setup file on my desktop and install the program via ActiveSync and Add/Remove programs or:-

2. Copy a *.cab file to the Temp folder in My Device using ActiveSync\Explore\Mobile Device\Temp and install the program using Cabinstall.

I have moved programs using cut and paste but this is not usually recommended because:-

1. You have to delete and re-install all the shortcut *.lnk files including those in iLauncher and tabs in PocketBreeze and:-

2. It may require changes to the Registry.

Pocket Mechanic\ Relocate does all these things for you.

I wouldn't dream of forcing you to use one of my tips

If you are open minded and feel like trying to learn different/new approach then you will follow/try my tips and then see if you agree/disagree to this tip/approach

I "think" that if you will try working this way your divice will work faster then you have ever seen enter window dir or boot from SR very fast, you will have a lot of rom&ram available for running more then one big app

The HR installation works on apps that you don’t have/need a today plugin
(apps that can be installed to the card)

1 backup your device - this way if you file like going back, you can restore to your current sate

2 hr your device

3 if you use a launcher ,install your today launcher the old traditional way (exe/cab)

4 go with your file explorer to your sd/program files and enter every dir you see
Tap on the exe with the icon of the app to activate.
you may need to approve the reinstallation of some files (say yes to every thing)

5 create shortcut to every EXE like I explained previously

6 configure your launcher like you are used to

Test the performance of your device now (look at available ram/rom speed …..)
Thank me later

*** on some apps will need to reregister (like it is the first time you install them )

most launcher will let you add files to your desktop (not only listed ink* from program screen)
you can use this function to add the shortcut
(now the launcher shortcut will be to the main EXE of every program you have installed on your card)

this way you don’t need to create shortcuts to program screen

if you have resco-explorer (that can work with hr installation) you can create the shortcuts by tap&hold on the main EXE then select send to/start menu as shortcut****:approve::cheers:

now back to what you pointed out :)

ilauncher will address the "name of the app" you referred to and not to the content of the ink*
what I'm saying is that as long as you keep the same "ink" name, you can use a shortcut (ink) from any location on the device

to cut things short ,after you "paste as a shortcut to XXX" rename the ink to just XXX (XXX- the orig name of the app) and it will function with your launcher (on magical "mechanic tricks" are needed )
if you use resco explorer it will be done automatically

if you are locked on your way of thinking it is ok, every one has there way of doing things :approve:

from my point of view mechanic is doing things 4you that "you wouldn't dream of doing" like copy/paste as shortcut and now "rename"

just having a laugh, hope all in good spirit :)
Keep-it/throw-it ,it is 4 you to decide, if you give it a chance…. Anyway good luck with what ever you use/chose:)

btw - way don't you insatll to the card in the first place

if you do testing of functionalty/speed/like to try ... just tap on the app cab and it will remove&reinsall the way you like it
good luck :)

To add to this, I just did a hard reset last night (GPS Issues, but the hard reset fixed it!) there are lots of files on there, I guess i never did a hard reset on my phone when I bought it used, but I have a bunch of pre installed programs that I will never need or use, any recommendation for programs I do not need, I would like to look at erasing IE Mobile, im much happier with Minimo.

SKTools has "Move Data" option from first 4.x versions (current 4.4.6). Not exist any free or lite versions for Windows Mobile Professional and Windows Mobile Classic. But for this option not exist any DEMO limitation.

You can find "Move Data" in SKTools menu.
This option allow you:
Move Installed Programs,
Move folders,
Move files,
Move cache for some programs.

see attached screenshot.

You cannot delete anything that is installed to ROM, so any of the files, applications, or other things you see right after a clean reset is installed in ROM and cannot be removed. Even if you could remove these things, you would not free up any usable memory, since the memory that is available to you is not the same memory that is used by the manufacturer.
