Syncing 6945 to Linux???

Has anyone had any experience syncing their 6945 (or 6925 - same phone, just locked to AT&T) to a Linux desktop? I'm getting ready to ditch MS XP-Pro for Ubuntu Desktop 8.10, tho I have to keep WM5 on my PPC. I've already built a server & installed the Server edition on it, working great! I can't get my HW6945 to sync consistently, if at all, and when I rebuilt our two PCs and had to re-activate both of our licensed copies of WinXP Pro, I realized how much I do not like Microsoft. Now that I have our server up & running with no problems, I'm about to migrate both our desktops. I've got a P3-800 with 640 MB RAM running Ubuntu Desktop much quicker than my AMD64 Athlon 6000 (duo core @ 3 ghz) with 4 GB RAM, so I'm looking forward to this change, but am wondering about the sync, or if I'll just have to pop my SD card into the reader, like I've been doing on my XP boxes for far too long (over a year, now).

I found THIS ARTICLE from Ubuntu about doing the sync, so I'm pretty sure it can be done. But, I'm wondering if anyone has actually done it with either a 6945 or 6925, and what issues had to be resolved to make it happen, and whether it happens consistently.

Thanks!
David

Thanks, Timber. I appreciate it.

I'm just now, as I type this, installing Ubuntu Desktop 8.10 on an old P3-800 with 640 MB RAM, for my daughter. It'll be a good test box for me, too, and I may try to sync mine up. It's the old box that I previously had XP Pro on, and I had a nearly impossible time getting my 6945 to sync up to it.

If I can get it to sync, then I'm thinking about some kind of GroupWare. April & I both have the same boxes and same iPaq 6945s, and it'd be nice to have each others' calendars.

Thanks for the response. I'll post here if/when I get mine to sync to it, and I'm looking forward to reading about your experience, too.

Thanks,
David
