No charge on docking

My 6945 battery went south and displayed a red light. I put in a new battery and it will not charge in the docking station. My other 6945 will charge in the station. The new battery will charge on the usb cable on the computer. Under the power icon I have it set to allow usb charge. Doesn't make any difference with fast or slow charge or usb charge unchecked. I have soft reset several times. I wonder if it got spiked as I may have had it plugged into a lighter socket on my bike that doesn't shut off when you hit the starter. Any Ideas?:rolling:
Thanks,
Fate

Have you thought about performing a factory reset to see if that resolves the issue?

Did I read your original post correctly? Do you have two different hw6945s? If so, have you tried the new battery in the other hw6945 to see if it charges throught the cradle there?

How about the battery that you didn't replace (the battery in the other device). Does that battery charge on the dock in the IPAQ you are having issues with?

Trying to figure out if it is a battery issue or a device issue....

Yup, tried that also. Is the terminal on the usb connector that uns the usb charge the same terminal as the dock charger? I wonder if there are two different circuits?

I don't really know much about differences (if there are any) between the terminals on the dock versus terminals on the USB cord. I don't have a dock that is designed to work with my hw6925, although I found I can use the dock that I got with my hw2415 with the hw6925.

So, the battery from the other device does not charge in the problem device?

It's sounding to me like a hardware problem with the hw6945. I wonder if the old battery was really bad or if it was the hw6945 all along. You might need to send it in to pocket pc techs (or some other repair shop) to see what your options are.

Well thanks for the help Julie. I may find one on ebay with a busted screen and swap parts. But it's still usable.
