iAudio M3 subpack on hw6915 - any chance?

I've got both a hw6915 and a iAudio M3 mp3 player. Now the chargers deliver almost identical current (the M3 get 1.8 mA while hw6915 gets 2 mA, both 5V, + on center) so I figure I could exchange the chargers without problem.

Why would I want to do that?
First: I would just have to carry one charger instead of two.
Second: The M3 subpack is MUCH smaller than the hw6915 cradle, and both have the 22 pin connector. Now that doesn't guarantee that they use the same pins for charging, but if they did, I could skip the rather heavy hw6915 cradle and just carry the little M3 subpack.

Of course I realise that I could just as well damage my hw6915 beyond repair this way. Any of you dare have any idea if this could work?

If you use the lower amperage charger, which is what you are saying, you shouldn't have a problem.
It will charge a little slower but shouldn't cause any damage.
Doing the opposite mightn't be good for the M3.

Edit: I should throw in a disclaimer here, I'm only working on Logic.
If the pins are different you could still cause problems.

Zaniax or Kcallahan or others may have a better real answer for you.

If it was me I would plug it in and see, but I like to live dangerously.
