Today my much beloved 5550 fell from the top of a filing cabinet, and the leather case didn't completely protect it :waaa: It works still. Kinda. It charges but doesn't sync with the cradle, the buttons don't work & neither does the reset function. But I can sync via IR so I can survive a few days.

I'm trying to get it fixed but the logistics involved with me being in Ukraine make that a bit tricky. Meanwhile I have a weekend trip to London planned for next weekend :)

So, my question is - if I decide to replace the 5550 instead of fixing it, is the hw6915 a good replacement? And is it even available yet? fyi, I use my ipaq for ebooks, outlook, franklin covey, codewallet & wifi surfing mostly plus studing Russian on lingvo's flashcard system. If the hw6915 will let me do that and also add mobile phone capability, I'd be pretty happy. And if not, what would you guys suggest as a good replacement for a 5550? (yeah, I know this is the hw69xx forum but I don't want to cross post all over the place!)

So some of what I sat may help. The 6515 is much more portable (1oz less and smaller) , I can live with the square screen and I love the keyboard, phone and GPS (less boxes to carry around). The processor is slower - and sometime much slower but the 6915 has a faster one I think. The 5550 has twice the RAM, which means some of the application I write for it won't run on the 6515 I really wish they had added extra. The Spectec Wifi card evens up the connectivity, though I sometimes found it a little finicky.

I'm probably going to upgrade for work reasons, couldn't justify it otherwise - but then I should be able to get push email to work!

If your software will cope with the different aspect ratio and you don't need acres of RAM I would rate it a worthy replacement.

BTW, reading eBooks will mean a lot of extra page turning!
