Do I get one? 6945

I am thinkig of purchasing an Ipaq 6945 this week. I was wondering if anyone has any comments about the phone. I currently have a KKrazr but I am so used to PDA phones I just don't think I want to keep it. I have had treo's and like them just fine. Any input will be appreciated.:)

I've got one (6945), love it, wouldn't want to be without it, & certainly wouldn't want to go back to the DayRunners that I so diligently wore out over the years. But, this is my first PDA & there may be others better suited to your needs. There are definitely "tweaks" to be done, software to be evaluated & purchased & installed, and "features" to be "fixed." And, it's not perfect. But, it comes the closest, for me, to doing everything that I need. There are other folks here who have far more years of experience using electronic PDAs, and who have used many more than just the 6945 (unlike myself). But, for my (considerable amount of) money, the 6945 was the right decision.

Good luck & Welcome aboard!

The biggest differences from a Treo will be:

1. Much wider
2. Clunkier phone dialing

The width can make it less comfortable to hold as a phone and to carry in a pocket. The upside is it is a little thinner, has a bigger screen, and is a little easier to type on (at least for me) because the keys are better separated.

The phone dialing and connection with contacts is clunky compared to Treo (particularly Palm-based Treo), but there are some tweaks and 3rd-party apps that can correct this.

The phone volume is an upgrade from any of the Palm-based Treos. Of course, the Wifi and GPS are upgrades from Treo as well.

I have had mine for about 2 Weeks. Very happy with it. It is a little wide but has not been a big deal for me.
