Welcome to the site

How much free memory do you have?

Have you tried a soft reset?

I have a 512 med SD card and yes I've done a soft reset several times.
TOMTOM just replied and said the progeam will not run on a HX2750.
There's got to be a way or reason for this thats beyound me and TOMTOM doesn't seem to be close or interested in fixing the issue based on the emailed support message.

I'm now looking for another software package since I guess I've been had by TOMTOM. The receiver works fine with Microsoft Streets but thats a very basic program and cannot load more than 2 meg maps at a time. Also not point to point directions come with this program.

Sorry my bad - how much free MAIN memory do you have:

Go to Start>Settings>Systems Tab>Memory.

Think of your SD card as a hard disk and your Main memory as RAM - if the file you are tryoing to run is bigger than the available main memory (or even if it takes 70%+) then your machine will either not run it at all/ or really stuggle to do so.

Total main memory is 123.53 and have it basically divided in half. Free memory is Storage:48.17 Program:52.22meg. TOMTOM says to load the program on the
SD card which I did and no improvement. Rrie\d to just load the program without loading a map - still froze. Found out that the buttons on the 2750 will still work but the start button and today screen links will not work. After some time the TOMTOM icon appears next to the start button but does not function. I have never gotten to the setup steps on the ipaq.

I did want to load and use a 4 state map that is 60meg. I think your saying that I'm asking too much and should break that down by state to keep the file size down.

Any suggeations on another software package I could use. Very sites even know there is even a 2750 in existance. Even some areas of HP's site.

Thanks again

Are you using a task manager (such as WisbarAdvanced2 or similar) if so can you disable it and try again

Also what programmes are running when your device locks-up?

Greetings

I too had problems with my Tom Tom setup when I first got it, I tried the program indoors without the GPS system switched on or without a satellite fix. When I tried it in the car with the full system switched on and picking up signals everything clicked into place. Now when I am indoors testing the system or just for route planning I set the GPS status inTom Tom GPS to simulator mode, selecting your nearest location and the system works fine.

I had problems with BT dropping connection but I think this has been resolved by upgrading the ROM and by moving the setup files. I now have the main program installed on the device and started with just a local map on SD card, I have progressively moved and increased the map to complete UK maps on my CF card al so far all seems OK.

I can understand the frustration you feel, I wanted to throw the lot in the bin but persevered and all seems OK now.

regards
Jim H

I have no programs running when I load the software or when I launch the program.

Someone else said that I may need to be receiving before the program will work.

I'll try that in the morning and let you know.

Thanks for keeping on this.

I have the same issue with my hx2415... does anyone know if there's a fix for this?
TomTom seems to install fine, but when I start it, nothing happens (only my PPC freezes). I have tried installing into main memory and onto the SD card. I also tried to install the program first, after flashing my ROM -- still no luck. Any help would be appreciated!

Time to bite the bullet guys and get yourself another package. You guys might want to try Space Machines Pocket Map Navigator. It has run fine on my 4150 and 2750.

Another option would be to downgrade to 2.24.62 (363). This version works on my 2750, although it is a little flakey (trouble finding gps sats) in that it seems to need a soft reset if you start it, later quit it, and then try to restart it. I have the app in the file store, with maps loaded on sd & cf cards. The maps are a small problem as they are a little old. I used to also have trouble with voice files not being found until I installed them by hand using PocketMac sync software, would never work if tried to hand install using pc. Go figure.

Geez, with all of the small problems I just listed, it looks like it's time to get a new package - what's currently the best app/maps and bluetooth receiver out there (not neccesarily combined)?

Gps
I have been using Iguidance 2.1 with Globalstat BT-338 Bluetooth and have no problems, I can even leave the GPS in my briefcase and still get connected , no need to have on dash etc.

Its a great program and no downtime and fast connect Long battery life of the GPS more than 15 hrs....
