So far, I have had issues with the following apps: journalbar, battery pack plus, and worldmatepro.
On the hardware side of things: my wi-fi radio will lock itself up: the radio is off, the indicator light is on, and it is impossible to gain access to the wireless control tab. Also, when the wi-fi radio locks up, the security settings cannot be changed. You can swipe your finger, but it won't allow you to change security settings. In this state, the unit will not power off. It will turn the screen off, but the wifi indicator light will continue to blink. In order to use the unit from this point, a soft-reset is required.
Can anybody say: ROM update!?
Seriously though, I would have lost my mind by now, if it wasn't for backups.

Item #1
When switching the Bluetooth on and getting the error "The Bluetooth Radio falied to turn ON due to insufficient driver memory available. You must perform a normal reset before you can turn ON the Bluetooth Radio." whilst having LOTS of RAM available (e.g. FREE: 47.43MB Storage and 43.98MB Program) is a real pain. This seems to happen only after you had the Wifi on. This needs to be fixed.

Item #2
The HP Protect Tools - Lock settings which locks the device after x minutes (user specified), switches the iPaq ON. This could be a "silent" background task, which doesn't switch the iPaq on.

I also have the above mentioned Bluetooth problem.

I also have unresolvable sync Calendar-items on my home PC, but there aren't sync problems with the same data on my office PC.

At home I sync:
Calendar
Contacts
Tasks
Notes
Files

At the Office I sync only Calendar.

Guess I should have posted my problem here-

For example, when I am in the today screen, I tap and hold the new link on the bottom left of the screen. The menu pops up and normally a menu pops up and you can choose several options-

Now when I do this, the menu is squished so I can't read the menu. The links still work but they are squished.

This problems happens in all programs with drop-down menu links.

Any comments would be great-

Thanks-

Derek

Talked to a buddy of mine at work and he said to perform a reset- so I did that and my problem is fixed -

Moral of story -
So when in doubt reset and see if that fixes the problem

I have found a new home for my questions- this is far the best ipaq site for quesitons/comments and answers-

Thanks-

#1 Dave I still have the power-on-lock problem (see also thread on this site) It seems now that I am not the only one. 2 or 3 times per week I cannot power on my device and have to do a reset. I have the idea (??) that it might also be related to recharging because twice it locked after it had been recharging ?

#2 After my last hard reset, (trying to solve problem #1 above) I restored my calendar and now my remind-me-alarm doesn't work any more. The time-alarms still work (so volume is OK) and also in the settings I enabled notif...
Any idea ?

My issues..mostly Duplicates of other folks issues..
I have previously reported my "power on" issue in another thread..but i'll put everything here
1. At least 5 times in the 1 week I have owned this unit, I have had to reset in order to power on. All instances have been after a charge and/or sync with charge

2. The Bluetooth Radio can't turn on just started today..though I really hadn't exercised the Bluetooth much as I use WiFi more often

3. WiFi seems a bit flaky. it seems that it shuts down more often in the middle of a session, but i can't quite quantify that yet.

It is somewhat amazing to me that this unit has so much memory..yet it doesn't seem to know how to use it!!!

Here is my issue cut down and re-posted:

"I have had the iPaq for a month - in general very pleased with it. Installed a 1Gb SD card yesterday and now...on two occasions in the last 24 hours it won't turn on without a soft reset. This is irritating me big time. Was nowhere near a charging device on first occasion, it was in the cradle on the second...I notice my BIOS is 1.00.09 ENG - is there a later version?"

Update: 22 Feb - it is still doing it, seems to fail to turn on if I leave it alone for more than four hours, any less and it switches on just fine. Overnight and all day - no chance. It has only done it since I installed the SD card in addition to the CF card. I have been running a CF card since day 1 with no problems.

Appreciate the help you all give on here. I would be lost without it - actually I would probably have taken it back to the supplier.

No, absolutely not sure. I do accept it may just be a pure coincidence. The power on lock did only start about three hours after I installed the SD but I may just have been lucky for a month.

Other problems I have noticed are to do with registry issues - not recognising PocketSharpMT.

Take care

Power on problems - possible cause

I have recently purchased the hx2100 which is in the same series as the hx2750 and experienced the same power problem ie. the battery fully discharges overnight. After taking it to the repair centre the engineer did improve things but it still lost 30% a night. However I turned off 'beams' last night and the battery only lost 2% overnight. Try this.

Also I have noticed the Ipaq turns itself on sometimes - any ideas?

I got my new hx2415 last week replacing my old Axim X5. Actually, my hospital gave one to each of the physicians as a new IT initiative. It worked well for the first few days, then the same problem everyone else is having (can't power it on) but it seems to occur only after it's been turned off for a minimum of 4-6 consecutive hours. Also, didn't seem to happen until after I began using a SanDisk 512MB SD card in the device. It has nothing to do with the battery running down, since it had been fully charged just prior to the problem, and after the reset, the battery showed a full charge.

Usually, a soft reset will get it running, but once I had to hard reset. Before finding this forum, I thought it was a "lemon" PPC so I exchanged it for another one from the IT dept but the same problem occurred (with the same SD card). I don't have a lot of extra programs loaded: Metro, Pocket Streets 2004, Acrobat reader, Microsoft reader, WisBar Advance 2, Avant Go, Epocrates (a drug thing) ... nothing too exotic.

I have a feeling it has something to do with the SD Card. When I first got my Axim several years ago, I had to get SanDisk to replace a 256MB SD card, because many early Axim users found that all their SD card data would get erased with no warning. It turned out to be some Axim/SD glitch that no one knew about until a bunch of users started reporting it through AximSite (just like this forum). Having seen the quirkiness of PPC's and SD cards firsthand, it wouldn't surprise me if history repeated itself.

Any hx users out there having the problem and NOT using an SD (of CF) card???? What manufacturer's cards are being used (the old Axim problem was with only certain SanDisk cards with certain serial #'s)?

Hoping for an answer AND a fix!
