ROM update on HP.com
HP just posted a new ROM update for us on their website. Unfortunately however, it fails to address the majority of problems with the unit. It also states that another update will be coming in March of this year.
It's too bad, I guess we will have to live with resetting our iPAQ's several times a day, until it is released.
I for one, have given up on the device, and have placed it in a drawer until the new ROM comes out. Thanks for the $800 paperweight, HP!!

We'll, HP has now changed the expected ROM release to MAY instead of March. So instead of having our problems solved in a couple of days, we will have to wait a couple of months. That's if they don't change the date again! I am seriously considering ebaying my PPC and just buying a cheap laptop. Too many problems for such an expensive unit, and HP doesn't seem too motivated to fix them.

Sorry, didn't mean to scare you off the purchase. There are some users who are experiencing no problems whatsoever. My suggestion would be to buy from a place with a good return policy. That way you can see if you encounter any problems with it, and if need be, will be able to return it.

I'm right there with you. I WAS dead set on the 2750 until I saw the Loox 720 but I was unsure of buying a PPC that isn't supported in the US and there aren't many accessories out for it. So...I started looking at the 2750 again but now this entire forum is full of people having problems with their 2750 and it is also full of nothing but bad news or no news from HP. The Loox 720 would cost me about $120 more than the 2750 but at least it would work!!! Maybe I'll buy the 2750 and if it has any of the problems listed in these forums I'll return it and get the Loox 720. If you decide to buy the 2750 best price is at Buydig.com.

I bought the 2755 anyways!! I did a whole review for the 2755 vs 4705 for 2 hours non-stop at compusa...and felt that the 2755 was a true winner...My plan is to keep the 2755 until hp or dell come out with a VGA hardware and software worth buying or I might just keep the 2755. Like i said the loox 720 is the best VGA PPC out there...regardless what people say...

I was very close on having the loox 720, its not a problem to get it. But support, warranty, returning, and all that is just going to give a headache

I'm loving the 2755 just take care of it don't install software that may mess it up, get a good warranty and go for it...the update will come out soon...trust me all the PPC have their share of problems..thank god we have this site to help eachother out to fix them..but sooner or later I think the 2755 will come out on top...

Good luck and have fun!! hx2755
